The Going Away Party

Xavier Sarre
Year 6 Le Rondin School

Once upon a time there was a chihuahua called Hugo. He had a silky smooth coat of brown fur. He was handsome and brave but he was also very sick and in pain. The vet had told the family they should say goodbye to Hugo. He suggested that the family should take Hugo to the park for a farewell party.

The park had a river and fluffy trees and a lot of grass and flowers for Hugo to run and play.

The children threw a ball for Hugo to chase, Hugo was very excited. Some of Hugo’s dog friends came along to the party, there was a small sausage dog called Izzy and a little cockapoo with curly hair called Otto. They chased each other around the huge park jumping on each other and rolling. Hugo found it difficult to keep up with his friends but he had fun.

Hugo’s family made him a special cake with all his favourite things like dog bones and treats. Hugo’s owner got the cake, but then she tripped over Izzy the sausage dog. She went flying and landed with her face in the cake. It was a disaster, the party was ruined and Hugo’s family were so upset. But luckily dogs don’t waste food, they ate it off the floor and licked it off Hugo’s owner's face. The dogs were so happy they were wagging their tails as they licked the yummy cake. It was a perfect going away party for Hugo.
