The Dog Party

Jett Burtenshaw
Year 9 Le Murier School

Kai the French Bulldog was having a party for his birthday. He decided to invite his six friends. They were Caroline the Husky, Storm the Labrador, Rio the Yorkshire Terrier cross, Aimee the little Pug, Kyran the Chihuahua and Jett the greyhound, the fastest dog around. At the party there would be an obstacle course and the winner would get a great prize.

Everybody arrived at the party just in time. Kai the French Bulldog greeted his friends and he took them to see the obstacle course outside. Then Kai started to explain the rules of the course: First there's a long beam to walk across, then a muddy trench on a tightrope, they must run through a tunnel full of treats BUT they are not allowed to eat the treats if they do their disqualified! If they manage this, the next challenge will be to take on the Chief of the town, Stacey the Staffy in a jousting match!

All the dogs were excited and headed straight for the start line, but suddenly a dog from next door called Rosie the Rottweiler asked Kai if she could join. Kai said “yes”, and on the sound of the whistle they started.

Rio tripped on the beam and fell off and was out of the game; Aimee and Storm are neck to neck on the tight rope, but Aimee pushes Storm out the way and they both end up falling in the muddy swamp.

Jett and Kyran are heading into the treat tunnel but neither can resist the amazing treats and eat them all, making them out of the game.

Only Rosie and Caroline are left in the game. They jump onto the jousting beam together and knock Chief Stacey straight off, but then help her back up. She decided they were both winners.

Chief Stacey the Staffy gave Caroline and Rosie a deluxe dog bed each as a prize. They gathered everybody and took them to the Red Dog Bar for a Pawsecco to celebrate and have some birthday cake.
