The Party at Tutankhamun’s Pyramid
Ciaran Tansell
Year 3 Castel School
My Teacher Mr Willcock’s asked our class 3W to bring in any Egyptian items that we might have at home. My Mum has a really cool sculpture of Tutankhamun’s head so I really wanted to bring this into school to show my class.
I started cleaning the sculpture when suddenly I got transported to Ancient Egypt! I saw a huge pyramid in the distance and I went to check it out! I went through the pyramid door and it slammed shut behind me, you wouldn’t believe what I saw!
There was lots of food that smelt delicious on huge fancy tables. Such as cranes, partridges, quails, geese, purple gallinule, coots, avocets, flamingos, pelicans, pigeons, doves, also meats like beef and duck, there was different shapes of bread, lots of vegetables, and tasty fruits like figs and dates. There was lots of red and white wine, also milk, water and beer.
For entertainment they had Dancers, I watched first women dancing a Duet and then men dancing the Tanoura which is a dance just for men. There were interesting Storytellers, talented Jugglers, impressive Acrobats and lots of board games to play, which looked like lots of fun. There were Musicians playing beautiful sounding music, I couldn’t decide what was my favorite out of the Harpist, Lyrist, Flutist.
Egyptian men and women were all wearing make-up, dazzling necklaces, earrings, bracelets, they all wore a bright fancy headdress.
The pyramid was crowded with rich Pharohs that loved to party! As well as lots of Egyptians that loved dancing.
After I got out of the massive crowd of partying Egyptians, I made a run for the last piece of mouthwatering melon to eat. I went for the door but I saw a shadow coming over me, I looked up and it was only Tutankhamun!
