After making his way to the roof of the building, he found himself staring at what he never thought was possible. The once busy city, full of life and spirit, was now desolate. He knew many years had passed since the beginning of the apocalypse, but he still kept believing. The one chance he had to find at least someone had now disappeared. What he was staring at used to be one of the largest cities in the world, and now its only population was himself and the nature surrounding him.

Down the staircase he went, and with new thoughts in mind, the journey felt endlessly long. Looking around, each building was now controlled by the shocking yet, beautiful and fresh life. Each step he took seemed to be cushioned by the softness of the grass that had seeped and grown out from the numerous cracks along the pavement. He saw different plants dangling themselves out through the windows, the cool breeze waved them around in the searing summer sun. It was like nature had taken its home back. Through each building he went, and each he found himself mesmerized by the variety of the vibrant nature. He tried to focus on his objective, but it was like nature had not only taken over the city but his mind as well.

All of a sudden, disrupting the tranquillity of the city, overflew the answer. The plane of liberation was within reach. What he had been searching for had been found, but had it? For the first time in 15 years, he had completely forgotten about everything and let nature take over. He thought he had yet to find the answer but he was standing directly in it. He wasn’t running anymore and didn’t want to keep doing so.
