Year 9 Other

I stood at the station patiently waiting for my train to arrive. The hustle bustle of the fatigued business men swarmed around me like bees. It was then I realised that I stood out like a sore thumb. My appearance is slightly obscure from others surrounding me, not to mention my height has always been an issue, I have always been a little on the short side. Although my appearance is somewhat unique. My clothing has always attracted various glances, especially with my royal blue mackintosh accompanied by a matching bright-red, boated hat in the same laminated plastic material.

I clutched my suitcase tightly. All my dearest belongings were stored away within the battered brown leather. My suitcase had been through countless events throughout my life and I couldn’t live without it. Each and every scratch or sun faded patch reminded me of an adventure. Even the rusted bronze clasps had a certain charm about them, however difficult they were to prise open. Within my suitcase, was my necessity of life, I needed it to survive my harsh explorations.

Suddenly the train arrived and screeched to a halt. I scrambled on with much difficulty due to the early morning stampede; this was the start of my newest adventure. I could hardly contain myself, the excitement was overwhelming. I rested myself on a tattered chair and pulled my suitcase onto my lap. I stretched out my stubby paws and sprung open the clasps with my clumsy pads. My little eyes gleamed as I focused my gaze on my pot of golden marmalade, my charcoal black nose twitched with anticipation. I can’t have a good adventure without a hearty breakfast of marmalade.
